Contact requests

Our contact form collects your name, work email, message, source, and submission time so we can respond and manage your request. We send it through our communications provider to our company inbox, do not sell or share it, and retain it while responding and as reasonably needed for the resulting business relationship and legal records.

Information collected in the preceding 12 months

Depending on the services used, we collected:

• Identifiers and customer-record information, including names, contact details, account and service identifiers, IP addresses, and authentication information.
• Commercial and professional information, including service selections, workplace roles, schedules, and authorized operational information.
• Internet or electronic network activity, including browser and device details, access times, authentication events, and service logs.
• Customer content and sensory information, including messages, files, support requests, inventory, point-of-sale data, and authorized image, audio, video, or sensor data.
• Utility and energy information, including interval usage, meter information, service and service-agreement identifiers, and related metadata.
• Inferences, including operational insights generated from connected data.
• Sensitive personal information, such as account authentication information, only where needed to provide and secure the service.

We collect information from you, your organization, authorized systems and providers, and automatically through use of the service. The public marketing site does not use advertising or analytics cookies; the signed-in service uses essential cookies and similar storage for authentication, sessions, necessary preferences, and security.

How we use and disclose information

We use personal information to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve Place Labs; authenticate users and manage accounts; respond to requests; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and protect rights and safety.

We may disclose each category listed above to service providers and contractors that support hosting, authentication, storage, communications, security, and customer support; to your organization and its authorized users; to authorities when legally required; and to a successor in a business transaction. In the preceding 12 months, we did not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Utility and energy data

When you authorize a utility, energy provider, or other third party to share data with us, we may receive energy usage, meter information, service and service-agreement identifiers, and related metadata. We use this data only to provide, operate, secure, support, and maintain the requested energy services. We do not use it for advertising or sell or share it under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

You may stop future collection by changing or disconnecting the authorization through the applicable provider. To request deletion of data already received, email business.outreach@usesift.co. Legal, security, and contractual exceptions may apply.

Retention

We retain information while needed to provide the service, follow customer instructions, maintain security, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, subject to limited backup and legal retention requirements.

Your California privacy rights

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may request to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions. They may also opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and exercise these rights without discrimination or retaliation.

We do not sell or share personal information, knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16, or use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger the right to limit. Because we do not sell or share personal information, an opt-out preference signal does not change our practices.

To exercise a right, email business.outreach@usesift.co with the subject “Privacy Request” and identify the request and relevant email address or account. An authorized agent may use the same method and should include proof of authority. We may verify your identity or the agent's authority and will respond as required by applicable law.
